About Us
THE ORDINARY GOURMET

The Ordinary Gourmet takes a relatable approach to food, with (relatively) simple recipes that also churn out great-tasting, beautiful dishes to turn dining rooms everywhere into personal restaurants that impress.
Hence ‘ordinary’, and hence ‘gourmet’.

Every recipe has a serving size meant for 1-2 persons.

I grew up watching my great-grandmother, father and helper make meals for us every day (so I began cooking at the age of 9!). It's been more than 10 years now of garnering and practicing various cooking techniques, and more than anything, I enjoy experimenting with different ingredients and cuisine types to find new and different combinations of flavour. I created The Ordinary Gourmet as a fun way to record my recipes, and share them with friends and family (and now, hopefully you too).
​
Beyond cooking: I used to study Architecture at Singapore Polytechnic, and am now studying Philosophy, Politics, Economics at Yale-NUS College. I also love music and play the violin with the National University of Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
